About this draft

This proposed End User License Agreement and Terms of Service is not yet effective. The Privacy Notice, consent processes and release prerequisites must be completed before it is offered for acceptance. Existing users have not accepted this draft merely by using Lilo.

1. Who provides Lilo

Lilo is operated by Alejandro Corredor as an individual, at 489 30th St., San Francisco, CA 94131, United States. Support: support@lilostory.app; privacy requests: privacy@lilostory.app. “You” means the adult account holder; “we” means Alejandro Corredor, the operator of Lilo.

2. Adult accounts and family use

An account holder must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You may use Lilo with children in your care and must have authority to provide information about them. Children do not enter this agreement. Supervise their use and keep account credentials secure. An adult account or agreement to these terms does not itself satisfy any required verifiable parental consent. We must obtain any legally required notice and consent before the relevant collection, use or disclosure.

3. Your license

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use Lilo for lawful personal and family purposes, including reading, listening to, downloading and printing stories where those features are offered. You may not sell access to the service, attack its security, bypass payment or access controls, or use it to infringe others’ rights. Nothing restricts uses or interoperability rights that applicable law permits despite a contractual restriction. Lilo’s software, branding and service assets remain the property of their owners.

4. Your content and generated stories

You retain rights you hold in your inputs and creative contributions. You grant us only the rights reasonably needed to process, store and deliver your requested stories, operate requested features, maintain security and provide disclosed support. This is not a transfer of ownership. AI output may be similar to another user’s output, may contain errors and may not qualify for copyright protection. We do not promise exclusive rights or clearance of third-party rights. Review output before distributing or using it beyond your family.

5. Family stories and the shared library

Saving a story does not authorize publication in the shared library. Authorized administrators may access stored stories for disclosed support, safety and editorial review; access must be limited and logged. Publication uses a separate edition, leaving the family original unchanged. Before publication we must establish publication rights and remove identifying family information from all text, artwork, recordings and metadata. Removing a name alone may not anonymize a story. These terms do not grant a general license to publish your contributions. Where your permission or a child’s parental consent is required, it must be requested separately for the specific purpose. Declining optional publication does not prevent normal family use. Public copies already downloaded by others may not be recoverable; this limitation must be explained before any optional publication consent.

6. Privacy and children’s information

The separate Privacy Notice must explain actual data collection, purposes, legal bases, service providers, retention periods, international transfers, rights and contact methods. These terms are not that notice and do not waive privacy rights. Do not include addresses, school details, contact information, medical records or other unnecessary sensitive information in story prompts. We must use an appropriate legal basis for each processing purpose and obtain verifiable parental consent where COPPA or other applicable law requires it. Optional consent must be specific and withdrawable, without retroactively making prior lawful processing unlawful.

7. Rights in the United States and Europe

Where applicable, you and your child retain rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent and complain to a competent authority. California rights may also include knowing about disclosures, opting out of sale or sharing, limiting certain sensitive-information uses and freedom from unlawful discrimination. A rights request may require proportionate identity and parental-authority verification. We must explain lawful exceptions and respond within applicable deadlines. These terms do not authorize sale, behavioral advertising, unrelated model training or unrestricted international transfers of children’s information. Contract acceptance is not consent to those purposes.

8. Safe and appropriate stories

AI can produce unsuitable, inaccurate or stereotyped material. A parent should review stories and narration before sharing them with a child. Stories are entertainment, not medical, psychological, legal or educational assessment. Do not submit unlawful, exploitative, abusive or infringing material, impersonate another person, or disclose another family’s personal information without lawful authority. Report concerning content through support. We may remove content or restrict features proportionately to protect users or comply with law, with reasons and a way to question the decision unless legally prohibited or unsafe.

9. Credits, prices and purchases

Before purchase, checkout must show the total price, applicable taxes, what credits buy, any expiry and relevant refund conditions. Credits are not money and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash except where law requires. A failed generation must be handled under the displayed failure/refund policy; mandatory remedies remain available. No subscription or recurring charge is authorized by these terms alone. Any future subscription needs a clear separate offer, legally required consent, renewal notices and an accessible cancellation method. We will not retroactively reduce the value of purchased credits contrary to applicable law.

10. Consumer cancellation and digital-content remedies

Consumers retain mandatory rights relating to non-supply, defective or non-conforming digital content and services, including correction, price reduction or termination and refund when legally available. For EEA distance contracts, a statutory withdrawal period generally applies; any exception for immediate digital content or fully performed services requires the specific conditions, express consent, acknowledgments and confirmation required by local law. Agreeing to this EULA alone does not waive withdrawal rights. Applicable national implementations determine the precise remedies and deadlines.

11. Service changes and ending an account

We may make necessary security, compatibility and service improvements. Material adverse changes require the notice, valid reason and cancellation or refund rights required by law; updates must not remove mandatory conformity rights. You may stop using Lilo and request account closure through support. On closure we must handle export, deletion, retained legal records and refunds under the Privacy Notice and applicable law, rather than keeping personal data indefinitely. Reasonable notice and a chance to remedy a breach will be given before termination unless urgent safety, security or legal reasons require immediate action.

12. Responsibility and liability

We are responsible to the extent required by applicable law. AI limitations do not exclude mandatory guarantees or remedies. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, willful misconduct, applicable gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory data-protection and consumer rights. We do not impose a blanket consumer indemnity, forced arbitration or class-action waiver through this agreement.

13. Disputes, law and changes to these terms

Please contact support first so we can try to resolve a concern. You retain the right to contact regulators, use available consumer dispute resolution and bring proceedings in courts available under applicable law, including your home courts where protected. Nothing deprives a consumer of mandatory protections of their habitual residence. Material revisions will be identified and notified in advance where required, and renewed agreement obtained when legally needed. Changes are not retroactive permission for a new data use or publication. If a clause is unenforceable, the remainder applies only to the extent lawful.
